Dead Bob is led by John Wright, drummer and co-founder of NoMeansNo, one of Canada’s most influential underground bands.
Known for their technical yet raw approach to punk, NoMeansNo stood apart through complex rhythms, jazz-influenced drumming and unconventional song structures. Their work left a lasting mark on punk and post-hardcore scenes worldwide.
Following the band’s conclusion, Wright created Dead Bob to continue exploring this direction. The project builds on his signature style: rhythm at the center, songs that shift and evolve, and a balance between precision and raw energy.
Dead Bob is not a retrospective act — it’s a continuation of a mindset shaped by decades in the underground: independent, restless and focused on the music itself.
